As winter approaches in the Northern Hemisphere, gas and oil prices soar and electricity shortages multiply. Many countries are finding it increasingly difficult to meet their energy needs, a situation which is leading some to favor coal again, despite its ecological cost. Consequently, after years of decline, CO2 emissions are expected to experience their second highest increase in history this year. A forecast that worries less than three weeks before the COP26 summit in Glasgow on the climate.
