OTTAWA – The Brady Tkachuk saga is now over. The all-star forward has accepted a seven-season, $ 57.5 million deal from the Ottawa Senators, the Ontario team said in a statement Thursday.
Tkachuk, just 22, led the Sens scorers with 17 goals and 19 assists in 56 games last season. He also accumulated a total of 69 penalty minutes during this campaign cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s an exciting time for the Ottawa Senators,” said general manager Pierre Dorion. Brady has a whole range of talents and is sort of the prototype of the modern power forward in the NHL. He scores goals, plays physically and behaves like a true professional, which allows him to be a role model for other players in our organization. “
Tkachuk, who is from St. Louis, Missouri, has 60 goals and 65 assists in 198 career NHL games. He was selected in the first round, fourth overall, by the Senators in the 2018 NHL Draft.
