The end of the 2021-2022 season will mark the end of a long era in Montreal, for the organization of the Canadian.

Equipment manager Pierre Gervais will retire at the end of this season.

He would complete a career spanning more than 35 seasons with the organization, which began with the Canadiens in 1987-1988.

“First of all, I would like to thank Pierre for his hard work, professionalism and dedication to the Montreal Canadiens over the past 35 years,” said General Manager Marc Bergevin. “Pierre has established himself as one of the best equipment managers in the hockey world during his career and we have been very fortunate to have him with us for all these years. The contacts and relationships he has developed all over the world speak for themselves ”, we can read in a press release from CH.

Among the great moments of his career, Gervais can boast of having won the Stanley Cup in 1993. He has also participated in the Olympic Games four times (2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014).

His NHL career now stands at over 3,000 games.

He will be replaced by Patrick Langlois from the 2022-2023 season.
