A chronograph with extraordinary specificities

The NB24 Chronograph is a rare piece in many ways. With its 42mm cushion-shaped case and round bezel, it stands out with a powerful and extremely recognizable design, with a very sporty-inspired dial on several levels.

Made in grade 5 titanium or AeroCarbon, this featherweight chronograph plays on the field of luxury watches. Renowned for their strength and lightness, these two materials are very popular in aeronautics. Twice as hard as steel, grade 5 titanium offers possibilities for very refined finishes. More technical still, the AeroCarbon is a high density material obtained by compression at a pressure of 10 bars of 300 layers of carbon in an autoclave furnace. Twice lighter than titanium, it is also 2.5 times more flexural than steel.

The second characteristic of this watch is its movement. The chronograph is one of the queen complications of watchmaking and CODE41 has bet on excellence by collaborating with Valjoux for the development of this movement of 326 components developed on the basis of a proven caliber, the Valjoux 7750. .

To meet the design requirements of the NB24, this movement has undergone many modifications: the bridges have been redesigned, the counters moved, but the most notable and complex modification is visible at first glance. Fans will immediately notice the peripheral oscillating weight that animates the face of this watch as it slides along the case wall. Transposing the oscillating weight from the back of the movement to its periphery is a complex exercise that few houses offer. It is also a feature which has a cost, since it alone represents a third of the production cost of the NB24 chronograph.

More Swiss than Swiss

CODE41 has always played the card of transparency on its costs, its margins and the origin of the components of its products with its TTO label (Total Transparency on the Origin), designed in reaction to the vagueness maintained by certain watchmaking players. around the notion of Swiss Made. With 85% of its components manufactured in Switzerland, the NB24 carries high the colors far exceeds the prerequisites of this label, whether it concerns the origin of its components as its assembly. Its very high-end caliber is entirely manufactured by the house of Valjoux (with the exception of the rubies and the barrel spring).
