The issue of Moroccans stranded abroad reaches parliament

The situation of the thousands of Moroccans still stranded abroad worries the Party for Progress and Socialism (PPS). In a statement to Le360, Rachid Hammouni, president of the PPS group, announced that on Friday January 14, 2022, he sent three letters to Rachid Talbi Alami, president of the first chamber, to the president of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Nadia Bouaida , and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita.

“In these letters, I expose the serious difficulties of residence faced by thousands of Moroccans still stranded abroad for more than a month, the date of the closure of the borders of Morocco”, he specified, adding that he receives a large number of calls every day from Moroccan citizens stranded in deplorable conditions abroad. MP Rachid Hammouni says he asked for the convening of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee.

In the letter sent to the President of the House of Representatives, the elected official requests that the problem of Moroccans stranded abroad be examined as an “urgent question” to be put to the head of Moroccan diplomacy during the next parliamentary session of the oral questions.
