DIRECT SANTÉ – Vaccination against measles: The national campaign continues until the end of January 2022

Launched on January 3, the national measles vaccination campaign will continue until March 31, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday evening in a press release published on its official page.

Aimed at people between the ages of 26 and 38 who have not contracted this disease or have not received the second dose of the measles vaccine, the campaign is open in all basic health centers across the country and in all centers set up for this purpose.

“The objective is to allow the greatest number of people aged between 26 and 38 to receive, free of charge, the second dose of the vaccine against measles and rubella to strengthen their immunity against these diseases, adds the press release.

According to statistical data from the Ministry of Health, more than 4,000 cases of measles were recorded in the first nine months of 2019 and 49 deaths were caused by this disease.
