FIFA unveiled its plans for the World Cup to be played every two years. But Carlo Ancelotti is far from for. The Italian puts forward his arguments and recalls the need to protect the players. “Play the World Cup every two years? Well, while we’re at it, let’s play one a year”, he said sarcastically over Rai Radio’s microphone.
“A very serious problem”
“The schedules are a very serious problem. Something has to be changed. There are games that don’t make a lot of sense. FIFA and UEFA should talk about it. It’s true that right now, maybe be that they don’t agree much with each other, but the pressure on the players is too great. ” Ancelotti believes Serie A is more open than ever this season, and has welcomed José Mourinho’s return to Italian football. “It’s a place suited to its character, I’ve always said it”, Ancelotti said of Mourinho. “I immediately thought it was the right place for him, and in the end it will be. I really hope Roma can win with Mou, and I expect the same from Milan, because they are two teams to which I am very attached. ”
