EuroBasket 2021 has not yet taken place, since it was postponed to 2022 due to the pandemic, we must already think of the next one, that of 2025. FIBA ​​has just announced that six countries have proposed their candidacy for its organization.

We thus find Cyprus, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine. The competition will take place in four countries on this list, in September 2025.

Hungary, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine are ready to organize the group stages and also the final stage, while Cyprus and Finland only want to place on the group stages.

FIBA Europe teams will now visit the infrastructures of these countries (Finland co-organized the EuroBasket in 2017 and Latvia that of 2015) between next October and January 2022, before an official decision is announced in the spring. 2022.

As a reminder, EuroBasket 2021 will take place from September 1 to 18, 2022 in Georgia, the Czech Republic, Italy and Germany. And it is in Berlin that the final will be played.
